Entry Guidelines

Overview

To ensure that everyone enjoys their visit to the pool, please take time to read through our entry conditions, water safety information and pool rules.

Conditions of Entry

  • All pool users are expected to follow the rules and guidelines set out at the facility and the lifeguards instructions whilst using the pools. They are here for your safety.
  • Children under 8 must be actively supervised by a caregiver 16 years or older. Actively Supervised means watching your child at all times and able to provide immediate assistance. Any child under the age of 8 that is found to be in the pool and not actively supervised will be asked to leave the pool and wait until their caregiver returns.
  • Follow lane etiquette rules set out on poolside for lane swimming, aquajogging and the hydrotherapy pool.
  • Visitors are not permitted to bring glass objects, knives or alcohol into the Centre. Visitor’s bags may be searched.
  • Appropriate swimwear must be worn in the pool at all times. Regular outside clothing is strictly prohibited.
  • All preschoolers who are not toilet trained are required to wear a water nappy whilst they are in the pool.
  • Payable lockers are available for the safe storage of your belongings. It is not recommended to leave your belongings unattended.
  • No pets or animals are permitted in the Centre. Guide dogs are welcome.
  • Videos or cameras are not permitted unless prior approval has been given from management.
  • All Aquatics Horowhenua facilities are no smoking areas.
  • Abusive language or behaviour towards other facility users or staff will not be tolerated. Anyone determined to be using abusive or threatening language or behaviour may be asked to leave the facility and risk being trespassed.
  • Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted entry to the pool. If you are found to be under the influence, you may be asked to leave the facility and and risk being trespassed.
  • Aquatics Horowhenua accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen belongings.

Pool Rules

  • Walking only. No running.
  • Bombing is not permitted.
  • Flips of any kind are not permitted.
  • You are responsible for your valuables. Please use the lockers provided.
  • Reckless behaviour will not be tolerated in any facility.
  • Please be mindful and respect other patrons in the facility.
  • Glass is not permitted in or around poolside.
  • Videos or cameras are not permitted unless prior approval has been given from management.
  • Suitable swim clothing to be worn. No track pants, jeans or underwear.
  • Changing in change rooms only, no changing on poolside.
  • Be aware of pool depths before entering the water.
  • Listen to and follow lifeguard instructions at all times.

Hydrotherapy Pool Rules.

  • You must be 16 years or older to use the hydrotherapy pool.
  • Keep hydrated whilst in the pool - due the higher temperature, your body will sweat more and will make you dehydrated.
  • Maximum pool capacity is 12 users.

Hydroslide Rules

  • Maximum of one person down the slide at a time, with the exception of caregivers accompanying a under 5 (compulsory) or under 8 (optional).
  • Poolsafe Pool alone policy applies.
  • Children under 8 must be actively supervised by a caregiver 16 years or over at all times.
  • Children under 5 must be accompanied down the slide with a caregiver 16 years or over at all times.
  • Jewellery and eyewear is not permitted.
  • Stopping in the slide is not permitted.
  • Walk up the stairs, no running.
  • Large objects such as floatation aids are not permitted.
  • Always listen to the lifeguards instructions
  • For safety reasons pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride the slide.
